Diller Vs The Rest: Will It Happen Again?

If you ask me, on the face of it, no. Not this time. But betting against Diller has not stood the test of time in the past…his big bet with Ask: TV search, or at least multimedia search, as this rather empty-on-substance-high-on-falutin story says.

“Diller believes search is destined to be the de facto passageway to everything behind the screen. As more and more video content is available on the Net, viewers will want to discover and display it on the tube. Diller tells me that video search is a big part of Ask’s future.”

Another interview with Diller, in Independent UK: On getting into original content: “Me and my colleagues have expertise in audio visual forms of content and I think we’ll enter it. I don’t know when and I don’t know how, but it is getting to look interesting again,” says Mr Diller.
