CXO Media, the Boston-area based B2B media company (publisher of CIO and CMO magazine, and a subsidiary of IDG), has cut 20 percent of its work force and is redirecting resources toward its online publications, industry research and events businesses.
In early Sept., the company laid off 30 people across most of its print-oriented departments, including editorial, marketing and design, but now it is hiring about 15 people for its online editorial and marketing positions, and for its other non-print businesses.
CXO Media had employed about 150 people prior to the layoff.
