RNWK-MSFT: Give Kudos To Glaser

For once, Rob could suppress his ego for the betterment of his company (these are my words…and something I’m hearing from a few other people too). Sean Ryan, the former CEO of Listen.com (Rhapsody), the company he sold to RNWK and now working on his own gaming startup, writes about the deal on his blog: “I have to give Real’s CEO, Rob Glaser, full credit for this deal. We may not always have agreed on operating or management philosophies, but he almost single handedly drove this litigation against a lot of naysayers, and it turned out be a huge win for Real’s shareholders, including myself :) He could have settled just for cash, but hung in there to negotiate as broad a business relationship as possible.”

News.com interview with Glaser: Microsoft has agreed for this Christmas and next Christmas and the period in between to promote no service on MSN (and Windows Media.com and a number of other places) more prominently than our service.
