Nickelodeon has signed a deal with m-Qube to launch Nick Mobile, “a mobile portal that offers kids and parents the opportunity to download ring tones, wallpapers, and text messaging services directly to their cell phones.” There is Nickelodeon content on mobiles already, this will be a branded portal specifically for the company.
The portal will launch some time in October and will draw from some of Nickelodeon’s most popular shows, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Dora the Explorer and The Fairly OddParents. An example of a text messaging service is SpongeBob SquarePants’ “Deep Sea Thoughts of the Day.”
