New meta-search service gada.be (4232.2233 via keypads) — fueled completely by keyword-driven results in RSS or Atom format — looks like a keeper on a PC but it really shines on mobile. Frustrated by punching in endless characters for multiple mobile searches, Lockergnome’s Chris Pirillo came up with an interesting solution: make the search term part of a url that brings in quick results from more than 140 sites. (Not every site is interested in being part of the search.) For instance, worldseries.gada.be or podcasting.gada.be. Change some of the search punctuation and the results change. Lots of potential here.
The server’s being crunched by intense launch interest; I didn’t have any trouble from my cell phone but don’t be put off if you run into a delay. No obvious business model yet, just text ads, but Pirillo says he has more up his sleeve.
