Mipcom Announces Mobile TV Award Nominees

Mobile TVMipcom (which we will be doing a special blog for) has announced the nominees for the Mobile TV Screenings & Awards, which attracted 235 entries from 135 companies and 30 countries.
“An independent panel of industry experts selected the 23 nominated projects that will be screened at MIPCOM from the four following categories: Best Made for Mobile TV Content/Format; Best Repurposed Video, Film, or Animation Content for Mobile; Best Mobile TV Channel or Service and Best User Interface for a Mobile TV Channel/Programme Guide.”
The PDF listing all the nominees is available here and it’s got a lot of familiar names. No one production or distribution company has dominated the list either…
The entries will be showcased at Mipcom on Wednesday the 19th of October, althoug it wasn’t mentioned how they would be screened. I’d hate to see something filmed for a two-inch screen blown up to movie theatre size…
The winners get recognition more than a prize, and will be selected by a grand jury of Mark Selby, VP Multimedia, Nokia (UK); Matt West, VP Mobile Media Worldwide, PacketVideo Network Solutions (UK); Nicoletta Iacobacci, Head of iTV Content Factory, RAI (Italy); Robert Chua, Chairman Founder, The Interactive Channel (Hong-Kong).
