Google To Pay Record Labels Cut on Advertising?

So this Newsweek story seems to suggest…Warner Music Group wants a cut of the cash Google and others would reap from selling ads next to search results for its artists, and has approached Google about the idea.

Meanwhile, Universal Music Group has clashed with Yahoo over compensation for videos…and pulled its videos from the site until Yahoo relented. One Universal Music exec estimates revenue from the new agreement to be worth $10 million or more to the company. Warner Music is now trying to extend the concept to the emerging video-search business.
