Scripps Networks, world headquarters for HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Fine Living, Shop At Home and Great American Country (GAC), has an immediate opening for a Vice President, Brand in our Knoxville, Tennessee office.

Job Summary:

Responsible for all brand related website activities including determination of strategy and providing general oversight of all areas for multiple brand-related websites.

Duties and Responsibilities:


Responsible for establishing current and long range direction of multiple brands’ web content and technology aimed at keeping the organization in the forefront of change.


Devises and oversees strategy for multiple web sites.


Dispenses technical advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures.


Oversees daily operational staff planning and management.


Oversees and authorizes the preparation and management of department budgets.


Serves as senior level communicator among relevant service and operational groups, including but not limited to editorial, production, ad sales, ad sales marketing, consumer marketing, online marketing, press, analytics, research, creative services, programming, information technology, broadband, business development, outside vendors.


Explores and integrates plans for new technology as appropriate.


Represents sites at executive-level meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.


Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.


Advanced knowledge of web technologies, video production, and web page design and editorial.


Ability to utilize HTML and web content management tools.


Oral and written communication skills.


Ability to manage the work of self and others.


Time management and organization skills.


Knowledge of arithmetic and statistics, and their applications related to budget development, maintenance and management.


Critical thinking and logical reasoning skills, including problem solving and troubleshooting.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 8 years experience with web technologies and web design, including a minimum of two years experience in a management role.
