Scripps Networks, world headquarters for HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Fine Living, Shop At Home and Great American Country (GAC), has an immediate opening for a Project Manager in our Knoxville, Tennessee office.

Job Summary:

Develops online functional specifications and communicates technology developments among cross functional groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Writes functional specifications and requirements analysis for technology developments.

– Coordinates functional teams to build and review development of technology assets as related to content for websites and other interactive outlets as they arise.

– Maintains schedule of project lifecycle phases through spreadsheets, project management software, and other relevant software.

– Serves as communication point person between technology and business teams during technology developments. Communication includes updates on cost and resource estimations, project planning and scheduling, implementation, rollout and maintenance.

– Prepares reports on project progress and status to manager(s) and organization.

– Assists in research of latest technologies and competitive products and services to evaluate their application and/or to challenge our current and propose products.

– Assists in proposal of new products that embrace the business goals of the company.

Position Requirements

– Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and 4 years in IT and/or online web design disciplines, preferably specializing in project management.

– Experience: 4 years in IT and/or online web design disciplines, preferably specializing in project management.

Skills/Abilities:

– Oral and written communication skills

– Organization and time management skills

– Ability to work under tight deadlines with multiple people and departments.

– Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.

– Ability to prioritize workload.

– Critical thinking and logical reasoning including problem-solving skills.

– Ability to make modifications to existing analytic methods/techniques.

– Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Project, Excel, HTML and Flash.
