MocoNews.net Venture Showcase

As we announced earlier in August, we’re launching “MocoNews.net Venture Showcase“, a showcase of mobile content-related startups. The idea is simple: we give startups in mobile content sector an online venue to demonstrate their services and products. This is a bi-weekly series, and we may go up to a weekly if need be. Matt Maier, staff writer for Business 2.0 magazine, and an expert in mobile content sector, will be heading this series from the editorial side.
The series is sponsored by Softbank Capital

For starters, we’re doing it in a simple interview format, but will upgrade to audio and WebEx-type presentations in the coming weeks. I do want to thank Craig Cooper of Softbank Capital for making this possible and helping us in fleshing out the format with ideas, suggestions and due-diligence questions.

Do send in your suggestions of how we can improve this showcase, the format, and the companies we should be looking at. E-mail me, Rafat Ali, at rali@moconews.net

The first showcase startup is LimeLife, a Menlo Park-CA based mobile content company focused on developing content for women. Consider it an iVillage of mobile content, so to speak. A detailed interview with Kristin Asleson McDonnell, CEO of LimeLife. The first showcase is here
