AOL-MSN Start Talking Again On Combining

So says a story tonight on WSJ.com…this is likely to spark another round of frenzied speculation and stories, after the news of the two companies talking came out last month. The renewed talks are centered around ways to combine AOL’s Web content with Microsoft’s search-engine technology. Other details on how it will work are not yet clear, says the story.

The talks are being pushed internally: “If you can’t get it done in calendar year 2005, then it’s probably not going to happen,” says one person involved in the negotiations..The talks are being headed by Time Warner Executive VP Olaf Olafsson and Microsoft Senior VP Henry P. Vigil, the story says.

But Time Warner is having conversations with other companies interested in partnering with AOL…
