Another day, another secret Apple announcement coming. Next week, it will be another one, according to a journalist invite, though it doesn’t say much beyond that.
A cryptic invitation (image of the invite here) to an Oct. 12 event in San Jose, e-mailed to members of the press, featured a photo of a closed theater curtain and the words, “One more thing…”. It could mean a video iPod and possible a movie/video service associated with it.
Apple has been in discussions with at least one major record label for music videos, as has been reported earlier in WSJ and elsewhere.
USAToday: Jefferies & Co. analyst Adam Benjamin this week wrote that his checks showed production began last month on a video iPod using chips made by PortalPlayer, which makes the brains of iPods.
