The biggest game announcement out of CTIA is that In-Fusio has won the rights to publish mobile applications based on “Halo”, the amazingly successful Xbox game created by Bungie Studios.
“This partnership is first and foremost a creative one focused on delivering mobile applications true to the ‘Halo’ universe,” said Julian Corbett, Vice President, Business Development and Brand Partnerships, IN-FUSIO. “We are dedicated to expanding the franchise in ways that will be exciting for existing fans as well as delivering a fun and satisfying experience for a whole new audience.”
“The first ‘Halo’ based mobile applications will be available later this year via carriers in North America with other territories to follow shortly thereafter.”
It’s not clear what the ‘applications’ are going to be…you would assume some sort of game, although trying to replicated the console experience on a mobile will lead to disappointment. With the latest handsets they could probably create a very good graphics-rich game with a different style of play…the use of the word ‘applications’ rather than ‘game’ implies some creative thinking in the types of content to be made available…
