Gregg Creevey, senior vice-president for sales and marketing at business news broadcaster, CNBC Asia-Pacific, said at a panel at 3GSM World Congress Asia: “Investments have been made in (operator network) technology, but I don’t see a similar level of investment in content”…he emphasized that content investment is not about putting a TV channel on a mobile screen. Rather, operators have to create a different experience from what is already available in mainstream media”.
Moving onto Neeraj Roy, CEO of Hungama Mobile, who said that Bollywood movies are “made for mobile” because of their short song-and-dance medleys — normally 6-7 in a movie but up to 15 is not uncommon. Bollywood movies are like that just because its the way Indians tell stories, but I wonder how long it will be before movie-makers around the world start putting scenes into movies designed to be resold on mobile phones…
