Nokia has opened a 3G content center in Taipei in an apparent effort to promote its equipment as the basis for delivering 3G content and applications in Asia. The center — a joint program with Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry — will establish localized training programs. “After Taipei, Nokia plans to set up a similar mobile content development center in Hangzhou, capital of China’s Zhejiang Province”.
The move strengthens relationships with the Taiwanese telco industry, in which the top three players use Nokia equipment. And of course is another indication of the importance handset manufacturers are placing on mobile content.
