Job Description

Navio is looking for an individual who is ardent about the information and transaction experience in consumer-oriented digital content marketplaces. This person will be the lead information architect / usability designer for the Navio AV Commerce Suite. Specifically, Navio is looking for an individual with solid skills at designing mass consumer quality interfaces in one or more of the following areas of expertise:

– Viral, “tell-a-friend”, community solutions: A key element of the digital commerce marketplace involves rapidly spreading cool offers for digital content. Navio desires to make this experience easy, obvious, and beneficial to consumers.

– Seductive e-commerce shopping flows: Navio-powered commerce solutions use both Web-based and mobile-based venues. Consumers have a wide variety of purchasing choices from traditional credit cards, PIN codes, loyalty point redemptions, wireless billing, and digital cash. We’re looking for someone who can design the product solution that will work across multiple digital commerce venues and storefronts.

– E-Commerce cataloging and storefronts: Navio’s AV Commerce Suite is used by media and entertainment companies to define product catalogs, create offers to purchase, and define venue looks. We’re looking for someone to take this product to the next level, suitable for the largest and smallest media companies.

Job Requirements

The position requires the individual to:

– Have direct experience in the discipline of information architecture with demonstrable expertise in Web commerce scenarios.

– Be proficient in crafting annotated wireframes, mockups, flow diagrams, and other visual specifications

– Have excellent knowledge of best practices in the user interfaces for e-commerce transactions and marketplaces. Academic training in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design or Human Factors is a plus.

– Have excellent knowledge of good design when applied to device form factors such as mobile phones and PDAs.

– Strong communication skills to gain adoption of new solutions as well as minimizing transcription error during development.

The position reports directly to the VP of Product Management but also works closely with the Chief Visionary Officer, VP of Marketing, and VP of Engineering.

Travel is not required. The position is full-time and requires daily presence in our Cupertino office.

Candidates must have the following characteristics:

– Fluency in written and spoken English.

– An excellent awareness of trends in the marketing of mobile, music, and video material to the “15-34″ segment.

– Self-sufficient with superb organization, exposition and follow-through skills.

– Superb attention to detail.

– Self-sufficient in the technology needed to communicate to the rest of the team, including engineering.

– Able to meet product roadmap deadlines with whatever it takes. Product releases are frequently tied to release dates of new movies, DVDs, or sporting events.

– Work with R&D in a product management role to ensure that the design vision is executed correctly. This includes interim design revisions, explanations and internal support, and pre-release acceptance testing.

– Good interpersonal skills, team cooperation, and a strong results-oriented work ethic.

– Comfortable in a fast-paced start-up environment with exciting opportunities around some of the “coolest” content.
