Gameloft, the French publisher and developer of mobile games has posted financial results for the first half-year, resulting in the sales forecast for 2005 being revised upwards to EURO 44 million. Overall sales for the company increased by 134 percent in the first half of the year, with 96 percent of those sales generated by mobile gaming. Gameloft’s operating profits dipped slightly from EURO 0.8 million in 2004 to Euro 0.6 million in 2005.
The company attributes this marginal decline to the extensive research and development costs for the first six months, which were invested entirely by Gameloft. It is expected that the following years will reap the rewards of that investment.
