Despatch 1: A Fruitful Day One

Mobile Gaming Conference, New Delhi: This is the first desptach from the day one of the Mobile Gaming Conference held in Delhi (Sept, 21-22) today.
I think this is the first of its kind (as in mobile gaming) conference in Delhi. I don’t know if any was held in Mumbai or in any other Indian city before. There could have been some 50-70 people attending, besides the panelists. My first impression is it was a great day. There were industry stalwarts like Vishal Gondal (of Indiagames), who chaired a couple of sessions, and is going to be there tomorrow as well. Then there was K Rajesh Rao (Dhruva Interactive), then Kaustuv Ghosh (country manager, India, Mobile 365), and representatives from operators like Reliance Infocomm and Tata Teleservices. Then there was Ajay Khanna, who has been recently appointed as the Country Manager (India) of Electronic Arts, Krishna Gidwani, VP, Corporate Development, I-Play, Rajeev Hiranandani of Mobile2Win and so on.
I will get into the speeches of all of them, and others who I haven’t named here, in my subsequent despatches. All told, the day one was fruitful, and I am sure it would have been for all attendees who dished out money to attend the conference.
