Telstra Tries Personalization And Recommendation To Sell Content

Australian incumbent Telstra has signed up AgentArts to launch “3G and i-mode mobile music & movie services for Telstra BigPond…The mobile services will feature one to one personalization and recommendations, search, news, rich media music and video, user generated content lists, as well as integration with existing Big Pond movie and music services”.
Telstra — which operates one of the 12 i-mode services around the world — is undoubtedly hoping the service will drive mobile content usage on its network, especially after reports that its i-mode service has had a slow start. And of course, its two previous efforts at mobile content were also a failure
If implemented well, recommendation services are expected to drive mobile content usage…
