Disney MovieBeam alum Erik Flannigan takes the post of VP-programming responsible for a new AOL unit that contains Moviefone, AOL Music, AOL Radio, and AOL Television. (Not sure why AOL Radio is broken out from AOL Music anymore.) His responsibilities include planning and development of new content for walled AOL and ad-supported AOL.com. Most recently he was VP-programming, Buena Vista Datacasting, responsible for programming MovieBeam. Before that, Flannigan headed the non-Disney entertainment channels for the Walt Disney Internet Group (MrShowbiz.com, ABC.com and Movies.com) and was VP at Real Networks handling on-demand music and entertainment subscription.
The LA-based job starts Sept. 26. He’ll report to Bill Wilson, SVP-programming. Looking for an in? His 1991 book “Led Zeppelin: Heaven and Hell — An Illustrated History” can be found online..
