I’ll be at the Digital Hollywood conference, starting Monday at the Loews Santa Monica. Just a travel advisory for people coming from out of town: it was hot Sunday here, so be as beachy as you want to be. Another tip: there are four panels going on at one time, so check the schedule carefully and mark out the session you want to go to..the scene at the venue is always chaotic, and best to prepare from before. Another one: power outlets are hard to come by in the conference rooms, so power up your laptop the max before you come, if you need it in the rooms.
My last tip: Wi-Fi is always spotty in the hotel, so have some backup in mind. Best to make your way to the Promenade, about 3 blocks from here, if you need reliable connection…two Starbucks and a Coffee Bean will have you covered there. For free Wi-Fi, you might want to go further down to Panera Cafe (on Wilshire and 5th)..always plenty of space.
