NewsCom, a DC-based global content licensing company is looking for an experienced salesperson, passionate about news and current events, to sell its products and services to the publishing community. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Company’s sales strategy through direct sales and content licensing of its products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect and sign up new customers within an assigned territory
- Implement Sales plans to increase sales among existing customers
- Provide demonstrations and training to customers and prospective customers
- Develop objectives and implement territory action plans
- Provide reports as required and travel as necessary
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years information content sales experience or content licensing experience in Media, Internet, or online Services. .
- Strong ability to prospect and close business.
- Understanding of the news, web publishing and content licensing markets.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas over a period of time.
- Excellent negotiation, time management and organization skills.
Education and language skills:
- BA/BS degree
- Fluency in English required; fluency in a second language a plus.
Skills and abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly, effectively and economically to industries whose needs change frequently.
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
- Strong computer application skills including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and MS Office.
- Knowledge of current technology, industry trends, as well as the publishing market.
