Exchange4media.com: Electronic gadgets are expected to become the best-selling items on the Internet in the near future, says a survey on Internet users and their shopping habits, conducted by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).
According to the survey, at present 40 per cent of Online shoppers are already buying electronic gadgets worth Rs 48.4 crore and 53 per cent are going to buy them in the future, which is set to touch Rs 119 crore by end of the financial year.
Seventy-four per cent of those who bought gadgets online were between 18 and 35 years. The biggest buyers were in the 26-35 age groups, which accounted for 48 per cent of buys, the survey found. “One of the reasons for the popularity of gadgets online is that the Internet allows people to search and compare. Consumers prefer to research high-value gadgets before buying with 72 per cent of online shoppers confirming the same,” said Preeti Desai, President, IAMAI.
