The US-based UTStarcom, a global leader in IP-based, end-to-end networking solutions will be launching Internet Protocol Television or IPTV services in India by next year. For this, the company will tie up with a leading telecom company. The talks are going on.
UTStarcom will institute the hardware part, while the significant other partner will bestow the amenity service. Apart from India, UTStarcom plans the same service in the China and Brazil.
At present in India, UTStarcom offers Broadband equipment to Bharat Sanchar Nigam, Bharti Enterprises and Tata Indicom and other companies, the phase for IPTV is to deploy IPTV services to better compete with cable and satellite television providers for subscribers and advertising revenue.
