@ MCW: How Long Has The iPod Got?

[by Mike Butcher] Terry McBride, CEO of Nettwerk Productions, said it “depends if it morphs into a phone or goes into a subscription model. I would say two years – longer if the design continues to be amazing.”
Napster’s Brad Duea said: “The iPod is a hardware trap and people don’t realise this. People get disappointed. It needs to become more open. To enable other services. If not, competition will take care of it.”
Angel Gambino of MTV said: “The iPod will last as long as someone can work out the pricing, packaging and usability to beat the iPod. Apple did all of those to begin with, and that’s why it worked.”
