Anew mobile community site called The Katrina Network has been launched. The site connects those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Immediate notification of personally relevant news by email and SMS (text message) is critical to people who have lost contact with each other in the aftermath of this disaster. On the Katrina Network users can search and post information under “Missing People” and “I am Ok,” browse though helpful information and post listings for city blocks, houses and business. It allows users to set up alerts by topic that are sent via SMS/text message or email when new information becomes available. The site can be accessed using a mobile phone, and doesn’t require a computer. The network/site is coming to you from Get Lisa, a Seattle-based mobile content platform company.
