At any given time: 55 million items are listed and more than $1,381 in goods are being traded on eBay; $823 in transactions are moving through PayPal; 3 million users are on Skype.

Acquisitions: PayPal, acquired in 2002 for what was then a shocking $1.5 billion. Total payment value (TPV in eBay speak)in 2Q05: $6.5 billion. Shopping.com purchase closed Aug. 30, 2005; acquired for $21 per share in cash (total consideration of approximately $634 million).

eBay 2Q05: Net revenues totaling $1.086 billion; eBay
International record net revenues of $419 million. Payment transactions accounted for $237 million.

eBay stores 2Q05: Approximately 299,000 stores worldwide (approximately 173,000 U.S. and 126,000 international). Put another way, if eacy of them signed up for Skype it would be the equivalent of two days growth for the VoIP company.
