New Mission To Bridge Digital Divide In West Bengal

I4D: The Bengal chapter of Mission 2007 adopted by a national alliance of over 150 members was launched in Kolkata that envisages an information, communication and technology (ICT) revolution sweeping all villages in the country through a public-private partnership model.
Grasso, an NGO, is trying to bridge the digital divide in Bengal by spearheading a project of setting up community information and service centres across the state as part of the state e-Governance project. The aim of the state government is to provide 3,354 kiosks covering all blocks and panchayats in the first phase that is intended to create successful rural entrepreneurs based on ICT.
