3 (the story isn’t clear whether it’s all 3 companies or just the UK version) is launching “Mobile Web”, which will give subscribers access to hundreds of web sites that have been “optimised for mobile”. Although this greatly extends the number of sites their customers can visit and includes such stalwarts as the BBC and Amazon access to the internet is still restricted to what 3 has approved. I wonder if it will approve access to other portals such as Yahoo?
On the plus side “Mobile Web will be available to subscribers on a flat rate basis”, which is a good move.
