ElectricArtists: Executive Editor, Weblogs and Consumer Generated Content, NYC

ElectricArtists is seeking a creative and talented Executive Editor with solid knowledge of WEBLOGS, RSS FEEDS, and CONSUMER GENERATED MEDIA to manage a group of editorial teams devoted to developing and maintaining a group of branded weblogs and marketing campaigns centered around consumer generated content. Recent ElectricArtists clients include American Express, A&E Network, Sundance Channel, Godiva, Svedka Vodka, The History Channel, Atari, Columbia Records, Best Buy, and others

Candidates must have previous experience writing and maintaining a personal or corporate weblog. They must also have prior experience in both web and print editorial as both a writer and an editor.

The Executive Editor will be responsible for directing the editorial content, voice, and look and feel for a range of web editorial projects for ElectricArtists’ clients in media and entertainment and consumer brands.

Specific responsibilities include:

– Set strategic direction for division

– Define the creative direction for each project

– Manage editorial teams and freelance writers

– Oversee all aspects of weblog design, look and feel, functionality, and editorial content development

– Develop story ideas

– Edit weblog content

Required qualifications:

– College Degree

– Understanding of weblog publishing tools including Movable Type, Blogger, and World Press

– Editing and writing experience with a combination of print and online

– Highly creative. Capable of conceiving big-picture ideas and executing them on deadline and with attention to detail

– Strong copy-writing skills

– Strong project management, time management, and client relations skills

– Brand marketing experience

– Understanding of online media outlets
