Looks like Disney is planning to repeat its Moviebeam failure: Walt Disney Television International is exploring the potential for global deployment of push VOD and DVR services, through a tie-up with Swiss digital security specialists the Kudelski Group. The companies will offer the service to pay-TV platforms, including online. They are planning a set-top box system that would offer a selection of movie and other TV content delivered to its hard drive, as well as the capacity for subscribers to record personal content from existing channels.
BizJournals: Kudelski said the system, which will not be offered in the United States, Canada or Japan, provides movie and other TV content delivered to its hard drive.
