Gender Divide On Mobile Phone Isn’t Dramatic

  • The Australian Mobile Content Industry Development Group conducted a survey (Australian Mobile Phone Lifestyle Index) to find out who was buy what mobile content…some figures:
    • 34% of Australian women bought ringtones, compared to 27% of men (those who did bought an average of three)
    • 15% of males bought games, compared to 10 percent of females.
    • Males tended to use news and adult content, comedy and sport more than females, while females used more astrology content than males.
    • Married participants tended to use the movie reviews more than most, but used the comedy and astrology services less than others.
