Yahoo Search Marketing Strikes Multiyear Deal Across Multiple Viacom Sites

In one of its widest-ranging deals yet, Yahoo Search Marketing will provide paid search, contextual advertising and customized search across Viacom’s sites BET.com, CBSNews.com, CMT.com, MTV.com, NickJr.com, SHO.com and VH1.com. Yahoo expands its partner network; Yahoo advertisers expand their reach and Viacom finally should get some serious search-related revenue.
Not every site will carry the full suite of services; for instance, NickJr.com, aimed at the Blues Clues set, is only using contextual ads. BET.com’s search box shows Yahoo’s brand and pulls up internal and external results. The MTV.com search box doesn’t show the Yahoo logo and only includes site-wide results. That flexibility appealed to Viacom.
No terms disclosed on the multi-year deal. Press release. (via ClickZ News)
