GalleryPlayer Media Networks delivers the world’s finest HD art and photography to high resolution displays for the residential and commercial markets. GalleryPlayer Media Networks is the first and only ultra-high resolution service that delivers copy-protected imagery to TVs or flat panels via the Internet, linear broadcasting channels, video on demand (VOD), digital video recorders (DVR), and private commercial networks.
We are currently looking for a proven self starter to come in and develop our commercial markets channel while working with the VP of Business Development on targeted cable and satellite operator opportunities. The initial primary focus will be the development of a commercial markets plan that will target retail locations, hotels, offices and other hospitality non- residential establishments where the GalleryPlayer Media Networks service could be sold either directly or through the addition of distribution partners that sell into those markets. The Business Development Manager will work to ensure that the company establishes and implements appropriate channel partnerships, revenue generation relationships and forward-looking business growth strategies. This position will play a significant role in developing and executing on GalleryPlayer Media Networks’ business model and strategic direction and has the potential to grow in terms of responsibility of scope. Responsibilities will include channel development, lead generation, strategic analysis, negotiation and deal closure. All of our Business Development staff members are expected to be creative and persuasive individuals with an ability to think at both tactical and strategic levels.
Responsibilities
- Strategic planning and channel development of a commercial market business development plan.
- Prospecting and developing new business relationships on revenue, channel and other strategic fronts, and responding to incoming leads.
- Initiating new discussions with and developing value from existing relationships with partners.
- Understanding a partner’s goals, and creatively working deal structures to satisfy those of GPMN and of the partner.
- Closing revenue and channel deals, as well as those that are primarily strategic.
- Negotiating terms and working with legal staff to develop language to govern relationships, and managing those business relationships after closing the deal.
– Create, implement and own a sales pipeline to manage customer lead intake, outbound activity, prioritization and metrics for measurement of deal status.
– Continuously develop an extensive set of relationships at C-level, VP and Director-levels across companies and across industry categories.
– Continuously grow revenue via increased reach and penetration across numerous content owner accounts as well as sales of new and incremental services.
– Prepare deal overviews and contract summaries for key stakeholders.
– Travel when necessary to meet potential customers; must be willing to be on the road often.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience and proven track record in channel, revenue and business development in the target commercial markets along with prior technical and management experience in technology, the Internet or digital media.
- Must be articulate, motivated and organized.
- Excellent prioritization skills and demonstrated quantitative and analytical acumen.
- Thorough knowledge of the technology, digital media and consumer electronics industries, and experience working in a fast-paced fast-shifting startup environment.
- High degree of comfort working with senior executives, both internally and externally
- Ability to make quick decisions, act flexibly, and think outside the box.
- In depth knowledge of pro forma financial documents/instruments, as well as extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for business and financial “what-if” analysis.
- Prior new business development experience and the proven ability in successful deal making, with a proven track record as an aggressive “deal closer”.
