The Economist Group is planning to use part of its $130 million cash pile to diversify. Financial and political magazines in the United States are believed to be prime targets, says this Times UK story.
I would say they should look at online-only pubs more seriously…there aren’t many independent print pubs in the area it wants to expand into (ok, I know that’s a flippant statement, but you get the drift), and online would give it a great growth leverage than print.
