Namco Launches International i-Mode Gaming Tournament

Namco has launched an “international cross-network operator mobile games tournament” in Europe. “The tournament is open to every i-mode phone owner, on all of the mobile networks in Europe where Namco offers its PAC-MAN ARCADE site. This includes Bouygues Telecom (France), COSMOTE (Greece), e-plus (Germany), and KPN (Netherlands).”
The competition is based around Namco’s latest version of Pac-Man (hardly a surprise) and winners will play off in the UK, with the overall winner grabbing a “25th anniversary branded PAC-MAN arcade machine”.

Some other bried mobile games news:
Glu Mobile will be showing upcoming titles for the second half of 2005 at the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany.
Boost Mobile has partnered with Canadian software developer Blister Entertainment to offer two new location-based games — the games sound OK but go for $6 for the first month and $3 for subsequent months.
In September Xing Mobile will release “Super Frootz”, a “colourful slot machine simulator featuring fruity cartoon graphics and a 5-reel slots experience”.
Fishlabs will present its new game “G.O.F. — Galaxy on Fire”, in an initial Beta version for all 3D-capable Sony Ericsson mobile phones at the Leipzig Games Convention.
