MIVA, the paid search company formerly known as FindWhat.com, has settled its 3-year patent infringement dispute with Yahoo. MIVA said it agreed to make a one-time payment of $8 million to Yahoo and took a non-exclusive license to certain Yahoo patents in exchange for a dismissal of all claims.
The patent dispute with Yahoo’s Overture Services was over technology that allows advertisers to place listings on a search engine through an automated bidding system.
