Talks Don’t Always Lead To Deals

I’ve been watching this morning’s LA Times article about talks between Blinkx and Fox Interactive Media ping around the net and it’s time for a crash course in expectation. It’s always possible that Blinkx may end up as part of the News Corp. extended family but for now too many people are hearing talks and thinking sale. As we’ve pointed out before, sometimes talks are just that. Negiotiations break down. Discussions go nowhere. I wish I had a good stat on this but, as many of our deal-making readers well know, for every deal that actually gets made a lot of other talks fizzle.
