Jamdat Mobile, which announced its Q2 results last week, has filed its 10-Q quarterly report with SEC, and some interesting minutiae on the $137 million acquisition of BlueLava (which owned 15-year rights to Tetris).
“The rights..to publish Tetris became immediately available on April 20, 2005 with respect to North America, Latin America and India. The rights..in Europe, Japan, Korea, China, Australia and New Zealand will become available throughout the remainder of 2005, as the current licensees’ rights expire.”
The Tetris license cost was about $87.8 million for the 15 years..goodwill was valued at $22.5 million.
The acquisition of “Downtown Wireless”, the casual gaming firm it bought in January this year, was valued at $6.5 million .
Revenues breakdown: “Revenue from our top three franchises, Tetris , Bejeweled and Bowling , accounted for 0%, 12% and 24%, respectively, of our revenues for the three months ended June 30, 2004 and 21%, 15% and 8%, respectively, of our revenues for the three months ended June 30, 2005. The Tetris , Bejeweled and Bowling franchises accounted for 0%, 10% and 25%, respectively, of our revenues for the six months ended June 30, 2004 and 12%, 18% and 11%, respectively, of our revenues for the six months ended June 30, 2005. ”
