Dow Jones: The global broadband Internet market is forecast to pass 190 milliom subscribers by the end of 2006 and will be approaching 440 million by the end of 2010 according to a report published by Informa Telecoms & Media. It expects digital subscriber line technology to take 77% market share, or 332 million subscriptions, compared to 76 million for cable. Informa expects Sweden and Finland to have penetration rates at over 30%, along with Japan and South Korea. It expects growth in China and India to take off while it slows down in more mature markets like Western Europe and North America. (NPF)
