WSJ Online: Assistant Marketing Manager

The Assistant Marketing Manager will be responsible for several functions for The Wall Street Journal Online, Barron’s Online and MarketWatch subscribers, some of which may include:

– Assisting the Marketing Managers and Marketing team with devising strategy, planning, development, implementation and execution for specific marketing projects, focusing on customer retention and acquisition.

– Developing and implementing loyalty-building and usage-driving retention programs designed to drive website usage, improve retention and help consumers to better understand the value of our products.

– Developing, implementing and managing new and existing email communication programs that drive ongoing subscriber usage.

– Performing quantitative analysis including (1) evaluating and analyzing current marketing efforts (2) determining consumer behavior/usage.

– Creating analytical reports/presentations for senior management.

– Partnering with the ad agency and supporting ad agency project execution.

– Manage the marketing department’s budget details, act as liaison with Finance, and work with the marketing and finance teams to manage / improve the budget planning process.

Qualifications and Skills required: 5-7 years of experience, including ideally at least one year of circulation marketing and/or, with at least 3 years online marketing experience, industry-related preferred i.e. online subscription and/or content publishing. Bachelor’s degree required. Analytical: solid quantitative, problem-solving and forecasting skills. Email marketing implementation experience. Includes ideally a good knowledge of break-even, cost-benefit, lifetime value. Ad agency experience a plus. Computer proficiency a must: Powerpoint and Excel a plus.
