Indiatimes: Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Dayanidhi Maran said 75 million Indians would have access to computers by 2010 from the present 15 million. “We are a population of 1.5 billion but only 15 million people have access to a computer. This figure should be 75 million in five years,” Maran said. He said at least 45 million Indians would have access to Internet within the same period. He stressed the importance of low-end computers, broadband connectivity and availability of content in mother tongue in taking the nation forward.
