Paul Palmieri, the executive director of biz dev and programming at Verizon Wireless, is leaving the company and joining Acta Wireless, a wireless related investment and advisory firm, as a venture partner to head its mobile entertainment practice. Acta is a year old firm, and till now has announced WaveMetrix as a portfolio company.
Palmieri was till recently responsible for Verizon’s mobile content service “Get It Now” and the mobile video service VCast. He had been at the company for five years, and he told me that this was the right opportunity for him to branch out. He’ll be looking at doing rollup plays in the mobile content space, as well as working on venture investing and hatching mobile related companies.
