Earnings: Disney Media Networks Revs Up 16 Percent for FY3Q05

The Walt Disney Company reported a 16-percent hike in revenues from its Media Networks segment, compared to a 15-percent drop in revenue for Studio Entertainment and a 7-percent increase in Parks and Resorts. Consumer Products numbers are ESPN continues as the gift that keeps on giving, pushing the cable networks group to $728 million in operating income, up 38 percent due to higher affiliate revenues. Overall, net income of $2.272 billion was up over $1.829 billion in the same quarter last year.
