See the story below on AOL’s buyout of Wildseed: I would be surprised if the deal went north of a low double-figure millions…Wildseed has been around for a few years now (Feb 2000), but couldn’t make much headway with low operator adoption…the only one I know of was with a small carrier Dobson..it did a deal last year for Dobson Cellular One stores to carry the skin in the carrier’s 16-state service area. Part of it was because it was ahead of its time.
The company has also had to do extensive retooling of the concept, due to fast changign consumer behavior. Anyway, would be interesting to see how AOL takes it from here: this is the AOL MVNO without being an MVNO, or maybe even that.
