Nokia Introduces Mobile Search to its Smartphones

Nokia has entered the mobile search fray by launching an application that collects several different search engines into the one app. The current service and content providers
incorporated in the search application include Eniro, Fonecta, Medio Systems, Yahoo!, Yell.com, as well as digital map solution provider AtlasCT and digital map data provider NAVTEQ.
The application is currently being piloted in the UK, Finland and Sweden for Nokia’s 6680, 6681 and 6630 smartphones. It will be included with the phones when they are sold, and existing owners can download the application for free from http://www.nokia.com/mobilesearch. The application sounds like it combines the results from different services (ie, shows a restaurent found on Yahoo on a map produced by AtlasCT) as well as allowing for different countries, and is a pretty good piece of mobile content differentiation for the manufacturing behemoth.
