Friends Reunited Pondering Sale

The UK-based online community website Friends Reunited is pondering a sale and has appointed Long Acre, the corporate-finance media specialist, to figure out the options. The price for the sale might go up to about $215 million, according to this story.

Friends Reunited was founded in 2000 and is now one of Britain’s most successful new media companies.

Telegraph: Friends Reunited hired Michael Murphy, former Financial Times COO, as CEO in February 2003 to help grow the company. Mr Murphy is also a minority shareholder.

The U.S. equivalent of the company, Classmates.com, sold to United Online last year.
