Scripps Networks, world headquarters for HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Fine Living, Shop At Home and Great American Country (GAC), has an immediate opening for a Director, HGTVPro.com in our Knoxville, Tennessee office.

Under general direction, the ideal candidate will be responsible for: general oversight of web strategy and operations; act as primary liaison among related service groups in the content creation, maintenance and oversight of brand website(s); supervise management staff and oversee budget, product development and general operations of web site.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

– Devises and oversees site strategy for HGTVPro.com

– Oversees operational activities of HGTVPro.com with specific attention aimed at content creation, promotional planning, and website maintenance.

– Develops business plan and annual budget for website function.

– Prepares and manages department budgets.

– Hires, manages, and directs daily operational staff planning and management.

– Serves as primary communicator with service and operational groups including but not limited to editorial, production, ad sales, ad sales marketing, consumer marketing, online marketing, press, analytics, research, creative services, programming, information technology, broadband, and outside vendors.

– Integrates plans for new technology as appropriate.

– Represents site to external parties.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Experience: 6 years experience with web technologies and web design.

Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of web technologies, video production, and web page design and editorial. Ability to utilize HTML and web content management tools. Advanced oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage the work of self and others. Time management and organization skills needed. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.

Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media. Knowledge of arithmetic and statistics, and their applications related to budget development and maintenance. Critical thinking and logical reasoning skills, including problem solving and troubleshooting desired.
