Asia Pulse: The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) and Indian subsidiary of US-based Xalted Networks have signed an agreement for research and development in the broadband access area for India and international markets. Both the entities will collobarate to develop Gigabit-Able Passive Optical Network (G-PON) techonlogy, an optical fibre access technology for delivering high capacity broadband services to telecom customers.
Executive director of C-DOT Vijay Madan said G-PON technology, thus developed, would go a long way in improving the tele-density and broadband penetration in Indian markets, while making handsome gains in international markets also.
