BBC To Stream Current Affairs Programs Online, Live and On-Demand

bbcnewsplayer1.jpgMy wishes are being granted, slowly but surely: BBC has put its current affairs programs online, in full, live and on demand. This is a big jump from the news clips it had for its users until now (separate from its interactive media player trials going on now, which are BBC programs on a seven day archive). The slate of programs to be webcast live include Newsnight, Panorama, Question Time, This World and Real Story, and is available in broadband quality for UK users and narrowband (56K) for rest of the world (bless you guys, but I would pay for high-quality, seriously, I would.) Besides the live streaming, these programs are available on demand. Of the program slate, only Newsnight is a daily program, and is archived for 24 hours after TV broadcast. Others are weekly, and available for the week.

More programs will be added down the line.

Update: The Monday night version of Newsnight, to be streaming live (10:30 PM BST) about now as I am writing this, has been cancelled because of “technical reasons”. But on-demand version will be online shortly.
